This is a Groove project from 3 musicians who are searching for a new way each using their own unique musical background and combining their experiences to take music in a new direction. The creativity of modern turntablism is combined with the dynamic presence of acoustic instruments.

Yatziv Caspi electrifies the air with his incredible drums, Noriaki Hosoya brings the strings on the the bass guitar to life and Mitch Alive takes care of business with good old vinyl. Fitting no standard genre, the project moves in its own direction and blazes its own trail. The focus is on grooves to dance to and jazz, funk and soul are strong influences on the project’s direction. As an accomplished beat-juggler, Mitch Alive has mastered the ability to create melodies and rhythms using harmonies and breaks from vinyl. New interpretations of classical music, raw groove and musical collages form again and again around his mixer. The drummer Yatziv Caspi is always good for a musical surprise Hosoya´s bass forms the backbone, accentuates the rhythm and makes the people move. The trio mix breakbeat with jazz, trip-hop with African rhythm. Jazz impros move into Soul & Funk. These three supply repeatedly daring rhythm battles. This is a show full of action and should not be missed.

“Wenn ich komme, machst Du Platz!”. Als Die P 2015 mit dieser Textzeile ihren Einstand im deutschen HipHop gab, war klar: Diese Rapperin ist gekommen, um zu bleiben. Ein gesundes Maß an szeneinterner Anerkennung hat sich die Musikerin aus Bonn längst erspielt. Doch wenn es nach ihr geht, steht sie erst am Anfang.
Für Die P bedeutet HipHop, Klartext zu reden, kein Blatt vor den Mund zu nehmen. Von dieser Redefreiheit macht die Rapperin auch auf ihrer 2017 erschienenen Debüt-EP “Bonnität” Gebrauch: “Mir war beim Schreiben der EP schon klar: Dieses Projekt muss mit der Tür ins Haus fallen. Die Leute sollen gefälligst zuhören.“ Der Titel ihres Erstlings ist deshalb nicht nur eine Hommage an ihre Heimatstadt, sondern besiegelt auch ihre eigene Kredibilität, um ordentlich Klartext zu reden.
In der Folgezeit spielt Die P auf jeder Bühne, die sich ihr bietet und erarbeitet sich so ihren Ruf als einer der stabilsten Live-Acts im HipHop. Keine Strecke ist ihr zu weit, um ihrer Leidenschaft nachzugehen. Parallel dazu arbeitet sie an weiteren Songs. Vor allem ihre 2019 veröffentlichte Single “Alle Reden” macht in der Szene ordentlich Welle. Die P rechnet darauf mit dem Status Quo des deutschen HipHop ab, wo der Output vieler Artists zwar hoch ist, das handwerkliche Können jedoch zu wünschen übriglässt.
Ganz anders bei Die P: Ihre zweite EP „Tape“, die 2020 über das neu gegründete Label 365XX erscheint, bietet auf fünf Songs konzentrierte Rap-Skills. Parallel dazu geht sie mit Künstlern wie MC Rene, David P. und Schälsick ins Studio für Collabo-Tracks, konzentriert sich aber vor allem auf die Arbeit an ihrem Debütalbum “3,14”. Die Zahl π. Ein Albumtitel, der zeigt: Die P konzentriert sich mit ihrem ersten Longplayer auf das Wesentliche. Auf Featuregäste verzichtet sie komplett. Auf den elf Tracks ist einzig und allein Platz für sie und ihre Bars. Dabei huldigt sie ihrer Hood ebenso wie der Familie und allem, was ihr persönlich wichtig ist. Die P meint es ernst, ist gekommen, um ihren rechtmäßigen Platz auf dem Deutschrap-Olymp einzunehmen. Ihre Tracks schaffen kompromisslos und mit Leichtigkeit den Spagat von Boombap und 90er-HipHop/R&B zu einer völligen Zeitlosigkeit. “3,14“ ist ein Album, mit dem Die P sich selbst ein Denkmal setzt, ein Meilenstein, auf den die Rapperin lange genug hingearbeitet hat. Und ein Zeichen an ihre Fans: Alles ist möglich, wenn man daran glaubt.
