DJ Scientist is something like a “1000sassa” when it comes to music. As the owner of Equinox Records and a passionate music digger he is a perfect guest for the Local Ghetto whith his very open minded DJ sets. Expect everything, from deepest DJ Shadow style beatz to uplifting Pixelord style footwork jumps and inbetween some of his other favourite, the music of the Soviet Union. Sieren is the maiden name of Matthias Frick’s mother and also his current alias under which he started to release his first free tracks in 2011. Rumour has it that he has a dark secret history of producing experimental techno, albeit his love for UK influenced bass music existed for more than one handful of years. It was not until recently that he began to make the most of his love for field recordings, sampling and experimental soundscaping and is now throwing his full force into music. His first EP was released in 2013 on Project Mooncircle, followed by various remixes and contributions to compilations as well as features on RBMA, BBC Radio 1, 1LIVE Radio and many more whilst sharing stages with artists such as Deft, KRTS, Submerse and more. Currently amidst work on his debut album, Sieren is also pursuing a masters degree in Audiocommunication and -technology.
