Searching for the Northern Soul” –
ein Dokumentarfilm über Skandinaviens alternative Kulturszene mit anschließendem Konzert
Im Oktober des vergangenen Jahres begab sich Skandinavien- und Musikliebhaber Marcus Mötz auf Expedition durch Dänemark, Norwegen, Schweden und Finnland. Dabei traf der 31-jährige Leipziger Künstler, mit denen er Interviews führte und Musik machte. Darüber hinaus ging er Mythen und Klischees auf den Grund. Mit einer Handkamera hielt er seine Begegnungen und Erlebnisse fest. So entstand der Dokumentarfilm “Searching for the Northern Soul”, der am 25. April in der Panke gezeigt wird.
Anschließend gibt die norwegische Electronic/ Folk-Band Flunk, die Marcus Mötz während seiner Reise traf, ihr Deutschland-Debüt. Das Vierergespann aus Oslo veröffentlicht seit nunmehr zehn Jahren Platten. Bislang tourten sie überwiegend durch Russland, China und die USA, jetzt steht also Deutschland auf dem Plan. Wie sie beinahe Popstars geworden wären, erzählen Flunk im Film “Searching for the Northern Soul”.
‘Searching for the Northern Soul’ –
a documentary about Scandinavia’s alternative cultural scene followed by a concert
In October last year, Marcus Mötz, a passionate Scandinavia and music lover, went on a journey across Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The 31 year old Leipziger met up with artists with whom he did interviews and made music. Beyond that, he got to the bottom of common myths and cliches. Equipped with a hand camera he recorded all of his encounters and adventures. The documentary ‘Searching for the Northern Soul’ will be shown at the Panke on April 25th.
After the screening the Norwegian electronic/ folk band Flunk, one of the bands Marcus Mötz met up with on his travel, will give their Germany debut. The foursome from Oslo have released albums for the past ten years and toured Russia, China and the US. Now they will play Germany for the very first time. In the film ‘Searching for the Northern Soul’ Flunk reveal how they almost became pop stars.
