Dear AUGB members,
our next meeting will be part of Club Transmediale (CTM) Vorspiel festival. We are glad to welcome the fabulous dj and producer Monibi. She will present her song project “Do you want me”, that is the opener of her debut EP. Monibi will also talk about routing (yay!), her big enemies (mixing bass and arranging booo), creative strategies (how to move on when you stuck), her workflow (how do get to a finished track) and will show you some of her go-to tools. After the presentation Monibi will do a short showcase. So don’t miss that date!
Artist info:
Monibi is a club & radio DJ, and music producer, from Cologne, Germany. Originally from France, she recently relocated to Berlin.
In her eclectic clubs sets and radio shows (“Etcetera” on Red Light Radio Amsterdam, “Borderclash” on Kölncampus), Monibi delves into genre-bending underground music inspired by the leftfield techno and house music traditions, with percussion-heavy rhythms. She builds bridges between modern bass-minded electronic music and more classic organic disco, afro, jazz flavours, and anything she sees fit for the here and now.
Her debut EP “Faux pas” came out in December 2019 on the Cologne-based label / artist collective “baumusik”. The EP mixes leftfield techno, broken beat, club-oriented electronica and, wavy basslines with an industrial touch.
