METACUTS

As part of KW’s Poetics of Encryption, the new instalment of METACUTS is set to explore the sonic landscapes of drum & bass, jungle, bass and dub. Launched in 2020, the series fosters connections between digital and network-based arts, sound and poetry, and ignites dialogue across artistic scenes and generations. This edition features five DJs, each representing a distinct independent scene, performing alongside real-time visuals by Clusterduck.

Marlene Bellissimo (stage name Avelo) is a Berlin-based comedian who makes videos about her life on Tiktok and Instagram. In her first monologue “Ami aus Versehen” she talks about her experience of growing up as a boy in the US, moving to Berlin as an adult, her transition as a trans woman and what it means to feel “in-between” in a tense political time.
