TROPY ViBES – party & live performance – unites latin culture in Berlin with the sounds of cumbia, latin beats, reggae, electro cumbia, tropikal bass and mash-ups, this time with LENGUALERTA & DJ Sáeg from Mexico, Paco Mendoza, Lucha Amada, Papo Yoplack and Selektor Bony!
█ LENGUALERTA is a singer from Mexico who has been an integral part of the Latin American music scene and travelling the world for ten years. After numerous concerts in his native country Mexico and performing live in South America, Canada and Europe he can now be seen at Panke in Berlin.
Lengualerta – “tongue on alert” is the voice of protest: With his critical lyrics he protests against social injustice while his activism is pushed by the search for humanity and social responsability. Lengualerta´s music unites reggae, dub and latin rhythms, for example cumbia with the culture of Latin American protest songs.
His most recent album “Aurora” appeared last year on the German label Echo Beach. Besides the main producer, Dukas (Bungalo Dub), the album also features productions by Ganjaman, Pow Pow – Ingo Rheinbay, Twilight Circus and Seeed.
█ DJ SÁEG from Mexico will be at the controls joining Lengualarta on the stage. Sáeg aka LICUADORA LATINA is a fix part in the landscape of Mexico City´s club nights.
█ PACO MENDOZA, is a producer, instrumentalist and singer who writes his texts in Spanish, German, French and English. His music doesn´t fit into one specific genre – it´s multicultural and includes a wide range of styles influenced by latin rhythms like cumbia, as well as reggae, hip-hop and dancehall.
Paco Mendoza, born in Argentina to Peruvian and Paraguayan parents, lives and works in Berlin and, together with his brother Don Caramelo, is known as the singer, guitarist and producer of Raggabund.
At Panke he will offer an exclusive showcase.
█ LUCHA AMADA is a DJ crew, active in the latin scene since 2001 in Berlin and Cologne playing latin-ska, reggae and radical mestizo.
█ SELEKTOR BONY, originally from Mexico has lived in Berlin since 2014. He runs the monthly nights Tropy Vibes and Rebel Vibes at Panke and offers an explosive set of cumbia, electrocumbia, cumbia dub and latin beats.
█ PAPO YOPLACK from Peru has been part of the latin scene in Berlin for many years – latin roots and psychedelic cumbia, a journey to the heart of Latin America.
