◈ Kumbia Boruka is characterised by the powerful sound of the colombian cumbia of the sixties and was founded by the singer and accordian player Hernán Cortés after several world tours in the company of cumbia giants such as the mexican artist Celso Piña. While the multicultural band, based in France with roots in Latin America are masters of classical pieces, they also know how to mix them with modern sounds, creating a new wave cumbia or nueva cumbia: hybrid, modern and eclectic. The 8 musicians make everybody dance, just as in the popular neighbourhoods of Monterrey in Mexico, home town of their founder and roots of modern cumbia. Kumbia Boruka – all the latin energy of Mexican streets in an explosive fusion of accordion, electric guitar, wild brass instruments and congas!
◈ ◈ KUMBIA BORUKA se caracteriza por su poderoso sonido influenciado por la cumbia colombiana de los años sesenta y fue fundado por el cantante y acordeonista Hernán Cortés después de varias giras alrededor del mundo al lado del legendario artista mexicano Celso Piña. La música de la banda multicultural con raíces latinas residentes en Francia, tiene un sonido contemporáneo poniendo en un lugar muy especial a la nueva cumbia – híbrida, moderna y consciente. Los ocho músicos que integran la banda, no dejan indiferente a los espectadores y hacen bailar a la gente en distintas partes del mundo, al igual que en los barrios populares de Monterrey, ciudad natal de su fundador y cuna de la cumbia moderna.
