Today a renewed sense of rhythmic complexity returns to the clubs. The Interlocking 2s and 3s of Juke/Footwork forms intricate beat structures unmistakably related to many forms of ancient drumming styles; the percussion heavy sound of Jersey Club reinvigorates hearts and feet; and the best of new school D’n’B brings its Afro-Caribbean roots to the foreground.
