Electric Indigo @ Ableton User Group Berlin

for this month’s meeting, we are honored to be host Electric Indigo! This will certainly be highly interesting to all of you interested in live performance and creative sound design.

Electric Indigo will give a short theoretical overview of Granular Synthesis, and present one of her favourite synths, the Granulator II, a free MaxForLive device by Robert Henke. She will also show Borderlands Granular, an iPad app by Chris Carlson, and how to integrate iOS apps in Live within OS X Sierra. In a second part, she will show how she controls sound spatialisation for multichannel setups in Live including spatialising effects from return tracks.

Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo works as musician, composer and DJ. Her name stands for an intelligent and discrete interpretation of techno and electronic music. She started her DJ career 1989 in Vienna and worked at the legendary Hard Wax record store in Berlin from 1993 to 1996. In 1998 she founded female:pressure, an international database for female, non-binary and trans artists in the fields of electronic music and digital arts. As a composer and musician, she creates music for concert spaces, clubs, sound installations and occasionally for stage plays and short films. In her compositions and live perfomrances she emphasizes the spatial-temporal placement of subtly elaborated sounds and structures often generated from speech recordings. She received several awards in Austria and Germany and shuttles between Vienna and Berlin.
