Das ist O!

9th November

O! (Litauen)

o! is a blend of post-club music, deconstructed rap and distorted visuals.
o! is a full motion audiovisual LIVE act.

It’s a mash of rap and poetry in semi-artificial language, ’90 rave music, industrial and bass music aesthetics.
It’s a visual mash of city’s margins, digital distortions and GTA landscapes.

CONCEPT
o! is the reflection of city culture with post-club music muscles. It is a guided tour through fading boundaries of physical and digital identities of the city.
The texts parasitically stick to everyday objects and later use them as triggers to regenerate in the subconscious mind of the listener.

TEXT
The boundaries between marginal eastern european language and artificial linguistics of everyday objects seamlessly melt.
Semantically logical texts merge with artificial language made out of everyday objects: car number plates, cigarette health warnings, rent-a-flat ads, etc.
Vocals deconstruct the main principles of rap, orally imitate trendy digital manipulations of voice.

MUSIC
o! changes the traditional perception of bass music (in this case – grime, uk bass, juke, post-dubstep, witch-house). Combines it with some spicy ingredients – industrial music, classic rap, ’90 rave music.
o! is post-club music.

VISUALS
o! creates cinematic experience on the scene: every track is separately visualized with filmed content, 3d graphics and visual distortions.
Visual side of the project (and the overall mood indeed) is mostly inspired by such artists as Gaspar Noe, Kenneth Anger, Olafur Eliasson.

IMPRESSION
o! intertwines rave and performance. It stimulates the crowd physically but it also may be watched from a side.
o! seeks not only to condensate a city, but also to regenerate through physical triggers spread all over the city.

Mesijus (MC Messiah): vocals
Jacques Gaspard Biberkopf: music
Asta Ostrovskaja: visuals
