AUGB May Meet

We’d like to invite you to join us for a comprehensive workshop on mixing down a studio recording of a rock band using only the included audio effects in Ableton Live.
Mark Smith, a seasoned audio engineer with over 15 years of experience in recording, mixing, and mastering across a range of genres, including jazz, classical, metal, rock, and underground performances, will be leading the workshop.
Mark has recorded over 40 acts per year for the Incubate Festival in the Netherlands, working with artists such as Nils Frahm, the Sun Ra Arkestra, HEALTH, Hauschka, and Glen Hansard, and has over 8 years of experience as a live sound technician.
In this workshop, we’ll cover everything from compression and equalisers to microphones and the philosophy of audio and mixing.
The skills learned in mixing down a live band are invaluable, and will give you a deeper understanding of how to use Ableton Live’s included audio effects to shape your sound and create a professional-level mix regardless of the genre.
The goal of the workshop is not to have a finished mix down (though this would be nice), but to provide a space for participants to ask questions unique to their experience level. Whether you’re just starting out or have been mixing for years, Mark will offer valuable insights and practical tips for improving your mixing skills.
Due to a tight schedule the workshop will be starting at 19:00 and ending around 21:30.
We look forward to seeing you there.
