AUGB March Meetup

Hi everyone,
For the March meeting of the Berlin Ableton User Group, Distant Sun will demonstrate a dissection of one of the tracks from his forthcoming album ‘I am Distant Sun’.
Distant Sun is a Berlin based dj and electronic music producer from South Wales, Uk. As well as working as a mastering engineer and music production coach, he is also one of the co-organisers of the Berlin Ableton User group.
He has over 15 years music production experience, mostly using Ableton Live and whilst mainly beginning as a self taught producer, extended his academic knowledge of the craft by gaining a Masters degree in Music Production and Engineering. Whilst writing the Master Thesis, Distant Sun explored the connection between classical Minimalism & Techno and was particularly drawn to the political principles of atonality put forward by Arnold Schönberg and Underground Resistance.
Distant Sun was first inspired by the deep tribal Progressive sound. The percussive elements and long mix transitions became a gateway to Techno, inspiring the hypnotic repetition and polyrhythmic sequences that feature heavily in his productions and DJ sets.
Distant Sun has released music on Credo & KarateKlub labels amongst others and DJ’d in various venues in the UK, Ibiza and across Berlin.
The most recent Distant Sun productions can be heard on Spotify by following this link:

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE AN EARLIER STARTTIME OF 7 PM/ 19:00 UHR
We look forward to seeing you,
Maya, Peter, and Brian
