Frontman Ilhan Ersahin is one of those rare moguls of the New York City underground scene via his club and record label, Nublu, and he’s spread his New York energy throughout the world. It’s possible to see him jamming with The Red Hot Chili Peppers in Sao Paolo, or featuring Bugge Wesseltoft in Blue Note Tokyo or playing a beautiful oriental set with Turkish gypsies in an elegant concert hall somewhere in Europe.

Since 2008 they have set fire to stages all across the world : from New York to Istanbul, from Paris to Sao Paolo, from London to Skopje… A session is a meeting of a deliberative body to conduct its business. In this case, the business is music, and the music is another heavyweight offering from Ilhan and his crew. Above all, the Istanbul Sessions can aptly be described as cinematic.

This May 23rd at @pankeculture, we’re teaming up once again with the cool cats from the @corner.girlz crew – get down with us! We’ve got live graffiti action going on again, where you can show of some tagging skills, bombing around the club and painting with some mad style along the Corner Girlz. For your musical gusto, we’ll have 2 live rap acts spitting some serious bars in the cafe – its a family thang! Our @deck_2_deck residents will be on the decks, scratching and mixing, setting the mood for y’all. Dont miss out foo!

behind all this we are working on a social project localized in Esmeraldas (Ecuador). we have a rural house that we’re starting to use as a relief center for girls that have suffered sexual abuse. our contribution from the other side of the world, aware of our privileges, would be running this kind of events and give them 60% of the profit. with the other part, we aim to continue organizing more and create a sustainable solidarity economy.
