gRoove invAsion

Another night of a cultural exchange between artists, musicians and thinkers from England and Germany.
This event was created on a not-for-profit basis. It is about music, art and sharing ideas. The ticket price of €6 will hopefully cover expenses and I thank everybody for their support.

We would like to see MORE people coming with (acoustic) instruments – if you have something to say or something to play then LET’S JAM!
This is about creativity. If you can sing, dance, hoola hoop, juggle or stand on your head and recite poetry… BRING IT!

Confirmed acts on the night include:

Town Of Cats From UK (Southampton)
– I don’t think it’s possible to describe this band just using words. Once you see and hear Johnny Biscuits and company then you probably won’t either. From Winchester, UK. It WILL be very dramatic. Welcome to the carnival!

Salty Blue Notes
– blues, R&B & roots. From Germany(Salzwedel).  A touch of class. They will make you melt, they will make you dance, they will make your night complete.

And welcoming back…

DJ Dr Jekyll – won’t need much introduction for anybody in Berlin in the ska/rocksteady/ragga/roots scene.

DJ East India Fading Company – from Berlin, specialising in making you dance to an eclectic mix of ska, soul, R&B and whatever else he may have in his record bag.

11th of January

The opening night of a cultural exchange between artists, musicians and thinkers from England and Germany, hosted by Panke, Berlin. January is supposed to be a long, cold and boring month, but we don’t like rules! And we KNOW that it is impossible to be cold or bored when you have the GROOVES! This event was created on a not-for-profit basis. It is about music, art and sharing ideas.
The lines between the performers will become blurred as they jam together, and the audience are welcome to join them on stage, if they have an instrument they can bring or borrow!

Musicians confirmed so far include:
Radiokind – http://www.facebook.com/funkenflugberlin
A local band from Berlin, dedicated to bringing the funk and soul to every party they attend.
Ed Wirgman http://www.facebook.com/edwirgmanmusic – Simon Boult- http://www.facebook.com/simonboultmusic
Playing blues, soul and contemporary folk in a style that belies their tender years. Based in Winchester, England and making their Berlin debut.
DJ Dr Jekyll – won’t need much introduction for anybody in Berlin who has immersed themselves in the ska/rocksteady/ragga/roots scene.
DJ East India Fading Company – from Berlin, specialising in making you dance to an eclectic mix of ska, soul, R&B and whatever else he may have in his record bag.
